Who we are
The Australia and New Zealand Clinical Quality Registry for the Treatment of Eating Disorders (TrEAT Registry) is a collaborative initiative between clinicians and researchers, and with co-design input from consumers.
The TrEAT Registry was established in 2016 and is managed by the University of Technology Sydney Faculty of Health, and is supported by our Partner Clinics and the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders.
We are the fourth mental health registry listed on the Australian Register of Clinical Registries (#ACSQHC-ARCR-279), managed by the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care.
Our purpose
Eating disorders are experienced by 1.1 million Australians at any one time. They are complex conditions, that without access to specialised treatment can negatively impact lives.
The TrEAT Registry provides data snapshots to consumers, clinicians, service managers and government on eating disorder treatment in Australia and New Zealand. We cover the full spectrum of eating disorders at outpatient through to day program and residential treatment, and in both private and public sectors.
The Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care lists mental health in its “Prioritised list of clinical domains for clinical quality registry development”, recognising the benefits of providing high quality care to people living with eating disorders, and that capturing data on outcomes is a key strategy in achieving this goal.
